This recipe came from a pilot at a small airport I worked at years ago. In my opinion it's much better than those found in the deli section of the supermarket. Whenever I make this, I am always asked for this recipe. My kids even love it.

  • 1 small
    bunch broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 small
    head cauliflower, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 small
    red onion, diced
  • 3 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
    sunflower kernels
  • 1/4 c
    bacon bits

  • 1 3/4 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    white vinegar

How to Make Broccoli Cauliflower Salad


  1. Prepare vegetables and place in large bowl with all other salad ingredients.
  2. Mix mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar together in small bowl until well blended.
  3. Pour dressing over salad and toss to coat well. Refrigerate 4 hours or more before serving to allow flavors to blend.
