amish slaw
I was looking for a good slaw recipe. I am not a real fan of mayonnaise in slaw, so was looking for something different. This fit the bill. We enjoyed it and hope you do too. I don't remember where I found the recipe. Too long ago.

Ingredients
- 1 - medium head cabbage, cored and shredded
- 1 - medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 - red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 - green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
How To Make amish slaw

Step 1In a large bowl, toss together the cabbage, onion, bell peppers and 1 cup sugar.

Step 2In a small saucepan, combine the vinegar, salt, celery seed, 1 teaspoon sugar, mustard and oil. Bring to a boil, and cook for 3 minutes. Cool completely, then pour over cabbage mixture, and toss to coat.

Step 3Coat and refrigerate overnight for best flavor.
