24 hour slaw
Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by Wanda Schomp.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup oil
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 - cabbage head
- 34/ cups sugar
- 1 dash salt
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon celery seed
- 1 - green bell pepper, diced
How To Make 24 hour slaw

Step 1Combine oil, vinegar and 2 tablespoons sugar in saucepan; bring to a boil

Step 2Shred cabbage; add 3/4 cup sugar, salt, diced onion, diced pepper and celery seed.

Step 3Pour heated dressing over slaw mixture and refrigerate (overnight, if possible).
