My Grammy made this in the 1970's and our family has enjoyed it ever since.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups broken pretzels
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup melted oleo
- 1-8oz package cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups cool whip
- 1-6 oz package strawberry or cherry gelatin (sugar free is okay)
How To Make pretend pecan gelatin salad

Step 1Combine pretzels, sugar and oleo. Spread in the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.

Step 2Beat together powdered sugar, cream cheese. Fold in cool whip. Spread over the cooled pretzel crust.

Step 3Prepare gelatin and let cool until syrupeyand almost solid. Slowly pour over the cream cheese layer. Chill until firm. Overnight is best.
