My Grammy made this in the 1970's and our family has enjoyed it ever since.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups broken pretzels
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 cup melted oleo
  • 1-8oz package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cool whip
  • 1-6 oz package strawberry or cherry gelatin (sugar free is okay)

How To Make pretend pecan gelatin salad

  • Step 1
    Combine pretzels, sugar and oleo. Spread in the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  • Step 2
    Beat together powdered sugar, cream cheese. Fold in cool whip. Spread over the cooled pretzel crust.
  • Step 3
    Prepare gelatin and let cool until syrupeyand almost solid. Slowly pour over the cream cheese layer. Chill until firm. Overnight is best.
