How to Make Mom's Jello Easter Eggs

Step-by-Step

  1. To prepare egg shells, use a large needle and pierce wide end of egg. Tap with needle to make a 1/2 inch wide hole in shell. Stick needle into egg and break yolk. Empty eggs into a bowl and carefully rinse and thoroughly air dry the shells.
  2. Combine gelatins in mixing bowl. Add boiling water and stir until dissolved. Let cool 10 min. Using a measuring cup, carefully fill shells with gelatin and place in egg carton hole side up.
  3. Refrigerate 5 hours or overnight until firm. To peel, remove the shell then the membrane. For easier peeling drop quickly into warm water before peeling.
