This has been the salad I grew up with for Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you want to make a sugar free version substitute your favorite sugar-free gelatin and sugar substitute.

  • 1 pkg
    frozen whole cranberries
  • 2
    whole oranges
  • 2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2 or 3
    inner thin stalks of celery, finely diced
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped walnuts
  • 2 pkg
    (3 oz.) red raspberry gelatin
  • 2 c
    boiling water

How to Make Cranberry Salad


  1. Grind frozen cranberries. Juice the oranges over the frozen cranberries and then grind the remaining orange peels into the cranberries. Put sugar into cranberry/orange mixture. Stir and set aside.
  2. Dissolve 2 pkgs of gelatin with 2 cups of boiling water.
  3. Add cranberry/orange mixture, nuts, and celery to the gelatin. Refrigerate in serving dish for several hours, before serving.
