Who doesn't love a good Salad? Not only is this Salad GREAT it is super easy. I think Salads tend to get way to elaborate and cumbersome to make without really adding a lot of flavor. The components of this Salad are not complicated, it's how well all elements marry so simply together while bringing enormous flavor. This has become my family's go to Salad and it never fails to satisfy. It is a great side Salad but stands up well as a meal with some great toast or bread. I hope you enjoy this simple dish as much as we do, in my opinion it's the only Salad recipe you need!

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of iceberg lettuce
  • 6 large hard boiled eggs - chopped
  • 8 ounces cremini or baby bella mushrooms - sliced
  • 8 ounces hardwood smoked bacon - chopped and fried crisp
  • 1 medium vidalia or red onion - diced

How To Make the only chopped salad recipe you'll ever need

  • Step 1
    In a heavy bottom skillet fry chopped bacon until crisp
  • Step 2
    While bacon is frying, Chop remaining ingredients. Layer mushrooms, onions and lettuce ending with mushrooms and onions on top. Add Chopped egg.
  • Step 3
    Drain Bacon, let cool, and layer on top of salad. Refrigerate at least an hour before serving. Toss lightly and serve with your favorite Salad Dressing. Add freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste.
