I am always asked to bring this salad to get togethers. It's my Mom's recipe and a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 10 ounces bags fresh spinach, washed & drained
  • 1/2 pound bean sprouts, fresh
  • 2 8 ounces cans water chestnuts, drained
  • 10-12 slices bacon, cooked crisply, crumbled
  • 3 - hard cooked eggs, diced
  • DRESSING
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 - medium onion, diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make spinach salad

  • Step 1
    Mix all dressing ingredients in blender or with electric mixer until well blended; chill. This dressing is best if made the day before.
  • Step 2
    Put spinach, sprouts & water chestnuts in large bowl;toss until evenly distributed. Right before serving pour on dressing & toss until coated. Add bacon & eggs & gently toss again.
