This is a common recipe. It's a staple at every family get-together, picnic, potluck we ever have. BUT.. my best friend's mother makes the best. It's a simple recipe & I don't know what she does differently. But hers is the best.

Ingredients
- 1 - head iceburg lettuce
- 1 package frozen peas
- 1 package sharp cheddar, shredded
- 4 - hard boiled eggs, sliced
- 1/2 pound bacon, cooked crispy & crumbled
- 1-1.5 cup mayonnaise
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup sugar

Step 1Tear or chop iceburg lettuce roughly, you could also use the bagged salad mix too. I don't see any difference.

Step 2Mix mayo & sugar.

Step 3There are two layers of each ingredient so start with lettuce, bacon, peas, eggs, green onions, mayo & cheese. Repeat ending with mayo & cheese.

Step 4Store in refrigerator till ready to serve. Best if allowed to fully chill for a couple of hours. It is especially important to use frozen peas and NOT canned.

Step 5It was hard for me to pin her down on exactly how much of what she used, this is about as close as I can get using actual measurements and not "a good handful" of this and "a couple" of that.
