This is an easy and tasty salad to make a day before a party,one less item to make on the day.Sometimes I omit the bacon and sprinkle chopped hard boiled eggs.

Ingredients

  • ·
    1 c mayonnaise
  • ·
    1/4 c milk
  • ·
    2 t. dill weed
  • ·
    1/2 t. lawry's seasoning salt,or use salt & pepper to taste
  • ·
    1 head romaine lettuce,washed,dried and torn in bite size pieces
  • ·
    2 carrots.thinly sliced
  • ·
    1 c chopped red onion
  • ·
    1 cucumber,thinly sliced
  • ·
    1 c frozen sweet green peas,thawed
  • ·
    1 c shredded cheese,cheddar or jack or a combination
  • ·
    8 strips of bacon,cooked and crumbled

How to Make Layered Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Place the mayonnaise, milk, dill weed and seasoning blend in a bowl and whisk until blended together well.Cover and chill until ready to complete salad. Place the lettuce into the bottom of a large glass bowl. Spread the carrots over the lettuce. Layer the onions and then the cucumbers. Pour the dressing over the top but do not stir. Sprinkle with the peas,cheese and bacon.
