We made this in Eagle River starting in 2000, and I really enjoyed it with the combination of cheeses! I preferred this one, so it was my birthday salad. Jen prefers the original with cheddar, so that was her birthday salad.

Ingredients
- 1/2 - bowl crisp lettuce
- 1/2 - green bell pepper, sliced thin
- 2 stalks celery, sliced thin
- 1 small onion, sliced thin
- 1 box frozen peas, cooked and drained
- 1 can sliced waterchestnuts
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- - salt and pepper
- - grated swiss cheese
- - grated romano cheese
- 1/2-1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2-1 cup sour cream
- - bacos (i actually buy the softer bacon bits in the bag for everything but this salad...use the harder bacos)

Step 1Layer vegetables in order given. Sprinkle with sugar. Mix equal parts mayo and sour cream and spread on top. Mix equal parts cheeses and spread on top. Sprinkle with bacos. Seal and chill at least 12 hours.
