layered cobb salad

This is such a delicious salad, great for family picnics and BBQ's. I have also added chopped hard boiled eggs to this recipe and it's a great addition. You can virtually add or subtract any veggies you like.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups romaine lettuce, washed and sliced
  • 1/2 pound grape tomatos, halved
  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 - ripe avocados, peeled and diced
  • 1 large red onion, peeled and sliced
  • 1 pound cooked medium shrimp, peeled and devained
  • 1 cup chunky blue cheese dressing ( i like marzetti's)
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

How To Make layered cobb salad

  • Step 1
    Place sliced lettuce in the bottom of a 14 cup glass salad bowl or trifle dish. Pack down slightly
  • Step 2
    On top of lettuce, neatly layer tomatoes, chicken, avocados, red onion and shrimp. Press down lightly to compress.
  • Step 3
    Spread with dressing. refrigerate at least and hour. Sprinkle with bacon just before serving.
