crab bowl dressing

I found this recipe for an old restaurant in Portland that we use to go to. They would serve a small bowl of iceberg lettuce with the dressing drizzled on top and if you wanted a good amount of baby shrimp on the top. When I first made it up I only made 1/2 the recipe to try and it tasted exactly like I remembered. Even my son said it was perfect. I happened to check my Mother's old cook books and found the same recipe in the Joy Of Cooking.

  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon worchestershire sauce

How To Make crab bowl dressing

  • Step 1
Mix all ingredients together in a quart jar and shake well
  • Step 2
This dressing mellows with age so make it at least a few days ahead of time.
