We've made this salad in my family forever:) It is well loved by everyone that tastes it. Feel free to add your favorite veggies if you don't like the ones posted. However, give it a try as is first. Wonderful salad for the summer picnic or dinner table. Notes: This salad must be refrigerated 24 hours before serving. Serve in a glass bowl for a nice presentation.

Ingredients

  • 1
    head of lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    green peppers, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    celery, chopped
  • 1
    8 oz package of frozen peas
  • 1 c
    mayo
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 12 slice
    bacon, fried crisp
  • 2
    hard boiled eggs
  • 1/2 c
    onions, chopped
  • 1 c
    grated cheese

How to Make Connie's 7 layer salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Layer #1. one head of lettuce chopped fine.
  2. Layer #2. mix 1/2 cup of green peppers chopped fine with 1/2 cup of chopped celery. Pour over lettuce.
  3. Layer #3. Add one 8 oz pkg of frozen peas to salad.
  4. Layer #4. Mix one cup of mayo with two tablespoons of sugar and add to the salad.
  5. Layer # 5. Add 12 slices of fried bacon to the salad.
  6. Layer #6. Put two hard boiled eggs and 1/2 cup chopped onion into the salad.
  7. Layer #7. Sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese on top of salad.
  8. Cover and chill 24 hours in refrigerator.
  9. Enjoy!
