connie's 7 layer salad

We've made this salad in my family forever:) It is well loved by everyone that tastes it. Feel free to add your favorite veggies if you don't like the ones posted. However, give it a try as is first. Wonderful salad for the summer picnic or dinner table. Notes: This salad must be refrigerated 24 hours before serving. Serve in a glass bowl for a nice presentation. Pictures to be posted soon.

Ingredients
- 1 - head of lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup green peppers, chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1 - 8 oz package of frozen peas
- 1 cup mayo
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 12 slices bacon, fried crisp
- 2 - hard boiled eggs
- 1/2 cup onions, chopped
- 1 cup grated cheese
How To Make connie's 7 layer salad

Step 1Layer #1. one head of lettuce chopped fine.

Step 2Layer #2. mix 1/2 cup of green peppers chopped fine with 1/2 cup of chopped celery. Pour over lettuce.

Step 3Layer #3. Add one 8 oz pkg of frozen peas to salad.

Step 4Layer #4. Mix one cup of mayo with two tablespoons of sugar and add to the salad.

Step 5Layer # 5. Add 12 slices of fried bacon to the salad.

Step 6Layer #6. Put two hard boiled eggs and 1/2 cup chopped onion into the salad.

Step 7Layer #7. Sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese on top of salad.

Step 8Cover and chill 24 hours in refrigerator.
