We've made this salad in my family forever:) It is well loved by everyone that tastes it. Feel free to add your favorite veggies if you don't like the ones posted. However, give it a try as is first. Wonderful salad for the summer picnic or dinner table. Notes: This salad must be refrigerated 24 hours before serving. Serve in a glass bowl for a nice presentation. Pictures to be posted soon.

Ingredients

  • 1 - head of lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peppers, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 - 8 oz package of frozen peas
  • 1 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 12 slices bacon, fried crisp
  • 2 - hard boiled eggs
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 1 cup grated cheese

How To Make connie's 7 layer salad

  • Step 1
    Layer #1. one head of lettuce chopped fine.
  • Step 2
    Layer #2. mix 1/2 cup of green peppers chopped fine with 1/2 cup of chopped celery. Pour over lettuce.
  • Step 3
    Layer #3. Add one 8 oz pkg of frozen peas to salad.
  • Step 4
    Layer #4. Mix one cup of mayo with two tablespoons of sugar and add to the salad.
  • Step 5
    Layer # 5. Add 12 slices of fried bacon to the salad.
  • Step 6
    Layer #6. Put two hard boiled eggs and 1/2 cup chopped onion into the salad.
  • Step 7
    Layer #7. Sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese on top of salad.
  • Step 8
    Cover and chill 24 hours in refrigerator.
  • Step 9
    Enjoy!
