"BLT" Salad

  • 2
    fried green tomatoes
  • 2 slice
    applewood smoked backon
  • ·
    mixed field greens
  • ·
    buttermilk thyme dressing (2 oz) recipe follows
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
  • 4 oz
    sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp
    fresh thyme
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 c
    red wine vinegar
  • 1 clove
    chopped garlic
  • 1/2 tsp
  • ·
    salt to taste

How to Make "BLT" Salad


  1. Soak tomatoes in buttermilk, coat in flour mixture (1/2 flour, 1/2 cornmeal, salt and pepper)fry to a golden brown. Cook bacon in brown sugar, fold into a circle.
  2. Mix all ingredients for Buttermilk Thyme Dressing
  3. Mix greens in dressing. Stack salad by layering greens with tomato and bacon. Garnish last tomato with a small amount of dressing, chopped red pepper and green onion.
