I find it amazing with this dish, how the lettuce stays fresh and crisp underneath the topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 - lettuce head
  • 3 - green onions; chopped
  • 1 can waterchestnuts; sliced
  • 1 - red bell pepper; chopped
  • 3 - celery stalks; chopped
  • 1 box peas, frozen 10 oz
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup fresh fried bacon (crumbled) or bacon bits

How To Make 24 hour salad

  • Step 1
    Layer chopped lettuce, green onions, waterchestnuts, bell pepper, peas, and celery in a glass 13x9 baking dish.
  • Step 2
    Cream together mayonnaise and sour cream. Add parmesan cheese, salt, and garlic powder and mix thoughly. Spread this mix evenly on top of the salad layers.
  • Step 3
    Finish topping your salad with crumbled crip cooked bacon (crumbled), or bacon bits.
