I enjoy making this recipe because a cake pan is the mold. It's fun to make and to serve. This is very good with different flavored gelatins too.

Ingredients

1 can(s)
pineapple slices ( 1lb. & 4.5oz.)
1 pkg
orange gelatin
water
maraschino cherries
1 c
cottage cheese

How to Make Upside Down Fruit Salad

Step-by-Step

  • 1Drain the pineapple slices ; reserve liquid and add enough water to measure : 1-1/2 cups.
  • 2Bring to a boil and then stir into pkg. of the gelatin.
    Cool until almost syrupy.
  • 3Arrange pineapple and cherries in a 8x8 round cake pan pour on 1/2 the gelatin; chill until set.
    (set aside the rest of the gelatin and keep at room temperature.)
  • 4Combine the remaining gelatin with 1 cup drained cottage cheese and pour over the first level.
  • 5Let the whole salad chill and set.
  • 6To unmold , dip the pan in warm water , cover with a plate , invert and shake firmly.
