Ingredients
- 4 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 8 ounces canned crushed pineapple and juice (separated)
- 8 ounces tub cool whip
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 - egg - slightly beaten
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
How To Make taffy apple salad

Step 1Mix flour, sugar, pineapple juice, egg and vinegar in a small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until thick. Be careful not to scramble the egg. Tiny bits won't matter.

Step 2Refrigerate until cold. (I put it in a shallow dish and put in the freezer for several minutes.)

Step 3In the meantime, peel, core and chop apples. When your mixture is very cool, pour over apples, crushed pineapple and nuts, and fold in Cool Whip. Stir and chill at least 1 hour before serving.
