Ingredients For taffy apple salad

4 cpeeled and diced apples

1/2 csugar

8 ozcanned crushed pineapple and juice (separated)

8 oztub cool whip
-
1 Tbspflour
-
1egg - slightly beaten

2 tspapple cider vinegar

3/4 cchopped walnuts
How To Make taffy apple salad

1Mix flour, sugar, pineapple juice, egg and vinegar in a small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until thick. Be careful not to scramble the egg. Tiny bits won't matter.

2Refrigerate until cold. (I put it in a shallow dish and put in the freezer for several minutes.)

3In the meantime, peel, core and chop apples. When your mixture is very cool, pour over apples, crushed pineapple and nuts, and fold in Cool Whip. Stir and chill at least 1 hour before serving.
