I have been making this recipe for years! There are many variations of this recipe, but this is the one that I make. My sister gave this to me in a recipe booklet she made for me when I got married.

  • 1 pkg 6 oz
    strawberry or strawberry-banana jello
  • 1 c
    boiling water
  • 2-10 oz pkg
    frozen sweetened sliced strawberries, partially thawed
  • 1 can 20 oz
    crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 c
    mashed firm bananas, about 3 medium
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 16 oz
    sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    fresh blueberries, optional

How to Make Strawberry-Banana Jell-o Salad


  1. In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in water. Stir in strawberries, pineapple, bananas and nuts. Pour half the mixture into a 13-in x 9-in x 2-in dish. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until set. Set remaining gelatin mixture aside.
  2. Combine the sour cream. sugar and vanilla extract; mix well. Spread over the chilled gelatin. Chill for 1/2 hour.
  3. Spoon remaining gelatin mixture over the top. Chill overnight.
