old-fashioned holiday fruit salad
I remember my Mamma making this every Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was a tradition that went on for many years. I found a handwritten version of this recipe folded and put in one of my old cookbooks.

Ingredients
- 2 - 8 oz packages cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 - (12 oz) containers frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 6 - bananas, peeled and sliced
- 2 cans (15.25) crushed pineapple, drained
- 2 cans (15.25) fruit coctail, drained
- 2 - granny smith apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 1/3 cups sweetened, flaked coconut
- 2 jars (4 oz) marischino cherries, drained and halved
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup golden raisins
How To Make old-fashioned holiday fruit salad

Step 1Beat the cream cheese and sugar together in a large bowl.

Step 2Using a hand mixer on high speed, beat in the whipped topping.

Step 3Gently fold in the bananas, pineapple, fruit cocktail, apple, cherries, pecan pieces and raisins.

Step 4Pour into a serving dish and chill at least 2 hours before serving.
