This is a salad all my children and grandchildren want whenever we have a party especially at Christmas and Thanksgiving. they say the holiday dinners are not complete without this salad. They eat it for a dessert as well

  • ·
    2 cans unsweetend dole pineapple chunks packed in it's own juice drained (keep juice for sauce)
  • ·
    3/4 cups sugar or splenda
  • ·
    4 med. sized oranges (peeled and cut up in chunks)
  • ·
    4 bananas (cut in slices
  • ·
    4 egg yolks
  • ·
    1/3 cup lemon juice
  • ·
    1/3 cup corn starch

How to Make My Grandma's secret fruit salad


  1. heat pineapple juice and sugar in sauce pan until sugar desolves
    Mix egg yolks, lemon juice and cornstarch until all desolved
    Add beatened egg yolks, corn starch, and lemon juice to pineapple juice and sugar cook until thickend to the consistentcy of lemon pie mix.let sauce cool for about 30 minutes
  2. meanwhile peel and slice bananas, oranges and add to pineapple chunks. add sauce and cool until time to serve. This is also good served with ham.
    and anything you want
