This is a family recipe I got from my Mother-in-law, Lynn. Mert was Lynn's aunt & always made this during the holidays. It's become a tradition around our family as well...it's not Christmas without Mert's! I also make it for Easter sometimes. Mert's is so yummy & is wonderful as a side to any traditional holiday dinner or anytime of the year.
In a large bowl, mash cherry pie filling. Add each ingredient & mix well.
Cover & chill for 4-6 hours.
