My family loves this salad . I plant the spinach early and hope we don't have a late frost to freeze the tiny green leaves. Mixed greens can also be used.I think it is the dressing that makes this salad sooo good.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1-1/4 teaspoon lemon juice, fresh
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- - dash of salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 8 cups mixed salad greens ( we like mostly spinach)
- 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1 can 11 oz mandarin oranges drained
- 1 medium sweet onion sliced into rings
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted
- 4 slices bacon strips cooked and crumbled
How To Make mandarin-berry tossed salad

Step 1In a cup microwave bowl, combine the first 8 ingredients. microwave , uncovered on high for 1 to 2 minutes , stir until sugar is dissolved. Whisk in oil. Cover and refrigerate until serving in salad .

Step 2In a large salad bowl combine the greens, strawberries, oranges, onion, almonds, and bacon. Drizzle with the cooled dressing and gently toss.
