kir royale fruit salad

This is a salad that I like to make during the Christmas holidays because of it's pretty jewel tones. However, my sister's boss gave her a bag of plums from his home a few days ago and she was nice enough to share some with me.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup seedless watermelon, diced
  • 2 - red plums, pitted and sliced
  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 pint blackberries
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1 bunch red seedless grapes
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 cup sparkling wine, chilled
  • 1/4 cup creme de cassis
  • 1 - lemon peel cut into strips, for garnish
  • 1 bunch fresh mint, for garnish

How To Make kir royale fruit salad

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl; combine all the fruit with the sparkling wine, creme de cassis, and lemon zest. Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
    When ready to serve; drain fruit and garnish with lemon peel and mint.
