grandma's apple salad

My grandma has made this for just about every holiday meal. I refuse to eat any other apple salad because hers is the best.

Ingredients
- 4-5 small red apples (diced)
- 2 cups purple grapes (seedless)cut in half
- 20 ounces can of crushed pineapple
- 1-2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup small marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 - egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice( use juice from can of crushed pineapple)
- 1 cup sugar
How To Make grandma's apple salad

Step 1Mix pineapple juice, lemon juice, salt, flour, butter, egg yolks(mix these in while mixture still cool or you will end up with scrambled eggs),and sugar together in a small sauce pan. Cook over low heat until thick.(Not quite pudding thick)Stir constantely

Step 2Cool mixture in refridgerator until completely cool stirring occasionally. Then mix in 1 container of cool whip. While mixture cools cut up fruit.

Step 3Pour mixture over fruit and nuts and refridgerate until ready to serve.
