I found the original recipe for Waldorf Salad in a very old edition of Betty Crocker's Cookbook; since my family doesn't do nuts, I made a few changes. It's great as a salad or dessert. I normally double the recipe because it goes so fast!

Method:
No-Cook or Other

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    diced apples
  • 1 c
    chopped celery
  • 1 c
    red grapes, halved
  • 1 c
    miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/4 c
    miracle whip or mayo, your preference
  • 1/2 c
    cool whip
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar

How to Make Gayle's Apple Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Sprinkle apples with sugar and lemon juice, add celery, grapes and marshmallows
  2. Fold miracle whip into cool whip, fold into apple mixture. Chill.
