Fresh Fruit Salad

Macrayla Evans

I make this all of the time during the summer. It is refreshing to have after a heavy meal instead of dessert.

3 c
florida's natural orange juice (i use the one with the most pulp)
8 oz. dole pineapple chunks, drained
15 oz mandarin oranges, drained
2 large
fuji apples, unpeeled (i use organic since the prices for organic and non- organic are about the same now for apples)
ripe bananas just starting to show sugar spots, sliced
dozen green grapes, sliced in half or you can leave them whole (buy grapes that have a yellow tinge to them since they are the ripest)

How to Make Fresh Fruit Salad

  • 1Pour the orange juice into a medium sized bowl
  • 2Add the drained pineapple chunks and mandarin oranges
  • 3Slice the bananas and add to the bowl
  • 4Cut the unpeeled Fuji apples into bite size bits and add to the bowl
  • 5Slice the green grapes and add to the bowl
  • 6Stir to coat all of the fruit
  • 7Best if left covered in the frig overnight. The orange juice soaks up the flavors of the fruit.
  • 8Great summer fruit to add: watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, kiwi, plums.

***I have tried strawberries in the past, but they are not sweet enough to counteract the slight bitterness of the orange juice
