I am cooking my first thanksgiving dinner, and was looking for a new twist. Came up with this combination and it turned out BEAUTIFULLY! Enjoy

Ingredients

  • 1 - bag fresh or frozen cranberries (make sure frozen are defrosted.)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 - orange: zested and juiced
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinammon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries

How To Make cranberry orange salad

  • Step 1
    Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium to medium-high heat. Heat and stir until sugar dissolves.
  • Step 2
    Add fresh/frozen cranberries, orange juice and zest, allspice, cinnamon, and salt. Heat on medium, stirring frequently until cranberries begin to burst, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Step 3
    As mixture thickens, remove from heat,and stir in dried cranberries.
  • Step 4
    Chill, garnish with grated orange zest, and serve.
