I am cooking my first thanksgiving dinner, and was looking for a new twist. Came up with this combination and it turned out BEAUTIFULLY! Enjoy

Ingredients

  • 1
    bag fresh or frozen cranberries (make sure frozen are defrosted.)
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1
    orange: zested and juiced
  • 1 tsp
    ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinammon
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1/3 c
    dried cranberries

How to Make Cranberry Orange Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium to medium-high heat. Heat and stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add fresh/frozen cranberries, orange juice and zest, allspice, cinnamon, and salt. Heat on medium, stirring frequently until cranberries begin to burst, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. As mixture thickens, remove from heat,and stir in dried cranberries.
  4. Chill, garnish with grated orange zest, and serve.
