Buttermilk Salad

This is a very old, much used family recipe. It makes such a pretty presentation.

1 can(s)
crushed pineapple (the large can)
1 small box
strawberry jello
2 c
1 c
chopped pecans
8 oz
tub of cool whip


1Drain about 3/4 of the liquid from the pineapple.
2Pour the pineapple and the rest of the liquid into a small pot and warm.
3Mix the jello and the pineapple w/ liquid.
4Next stir in the buttermilk.
5Refrigerate until thick. **This will take a while. I usually let it sit overnight.**
6Gently mix in the cool whip and pecans into the buttermilk mixture and place into your serving bowl. It's ready to serve!
