This is a salad that you can get your kids to eat. Slightly sweet and fruity.

Ingredients

  • 1 - romaine lettuce head
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1 pint berries (any berries your kids love)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (have used low fat with good results)
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup sugar (can use artificaila sweetener, but use only 2 tablesppons
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds

How To Make berry salad w/poppy seed dressing

  • Step 1
    Wash and cut Romain lettuce into bite size pieces, rinse berries and combine
  • Step 2
    Dice the red onion finely or even grate it so the kids can't find it, but only use about 2 Tablespoons as grated onion is extremely strong because of the juices released. Combine with the lettuce and berries
  • Step 3
    Combine all the other ingredients and mix well. Pour over salad and serve
