  • 1/2 c
  • 8 oz
    crushed pineapple, drained - reserve juice
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1
  • 2 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 8 oz
    frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 c
    coarse chopped walnuts
  • 4 medium
    granny smith apples, pared and chopped

How to Make Apple Salad


  1. In small saucepan, mix sugar, pineapple juice, flour, and apple cider vinegar, over low-medium heat, stirring often.
  2. In bowl, beat egg. Add a bit of the mixture in the saucepan to the beaten egg to temper it. Pour egg into mixture in saucepan, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat.
  3. Pour the mixture from the saucepan into bowl and refrigerate until cool.
  4. When cool, fold in the container of whipped topping, nuts and the apples. You may sprinkle addtional nuts on top, if you wish.
