Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 8 ounces crushed pineapple, drained - reserve juice
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 - egg
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 8 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1/2 cup coarse chopped walnuts
- 4 medium granny smith apples, pared and chopped
How To Make apple salad

Step 1In small saucepan, mix sugar, pineapple juice, flour, and apple cider vinegar, over low-medium heat, stirring often.

Step 2In bowl, beat egg. Add a bit of the mixture in the saucepan to the beaten egg to temper it. Pour egg into mixture in saucepan, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat.

Step 3Pour the mixture from the saucepan into bowl and refrigerate until cool.

Step 4When cool, fold in the container of whipped topping, nuts and the apples. You may sprinkle addtional nuts on top, if you wish.
