10-cup fruit dessert

This awesome dish has been called 5-Cup Salad, Ambrosia, plain ol' Fruit Salad--you name it. Whatever you call it, it is absolutely delicious! For many years this was my requested dessert on my birthday instead of cake. I've tweaked it a bit for my own taste. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 oz.) pineapple chunks or tidbits
  • 1 large (or 2 small) cans mandarin oranges
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 2 cups coconut, flaked
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows (i use the colored ones)
  • - may also add or substitute seedless white or red grapes

How To Make 10-cup fruit dessert

  • Step 1
    Drain the juice from the pineapple and oranges. (Save it for drinking later!) In a large bowl, combine the fruits, sour cream, coconut and marshmallows until thoroughly mixed.
  • Step 2
    Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
