chicken salad with a zing
(1 RATING)
I had had it up to "here" with bland chicken salad. So about five years ago, I started on a journey to concoct a delicious chicken salad recipe that had flare and "kick"! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Ingredients
- 3 - chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
- 1 - juice from 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 jar wickles brand relish
- 1 to 2 pounds fresh green seedless grapes - optional
- 1 to 2 cups chopped pecans - optional
How To Make chicken salad with a zing
-
Step 1Cook (boil) chicken breasts, and shred the meat, reserving ½ cup chicken broth. Mix the mayonnaise and sour cream in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion salt. Mix in the chicken and broth (if you prefer, you can use hand mixer to shred chicken more and blend it more finely into the mixture). Mix in the Wickles. (Optional) Mix in grapes and pecans. Allow the mixture to refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (it will thicken as it stands in the frig). Serves a ton of folks! Serve on its own or with any type of crackers you like - my personal favorite is the Keebler Bistro Mutigrain.
