mesclun black and blue salad

My favorite farmers' market vendor had his version of mesclun for sale - a mixture of spring lettuces, mustard, and arugula. Added the rest of the stuff that was on hand. Rather than making vinaigrette from scratch, I just used lite Italian dressing. Suit yourself!

Ingredients For mesclun black and blue salad

  • 4-5 c
    mesclun or mixed spring greens
  • 5 oz
    medium rare steak, sliced thinly
  • 1 oz
    blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2
    avocado, cubed
  • 2
    radishes, thinly sliced
  • 1 sm
    shallot, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    your favorite vinaigrette dressing
  • croutons, optional

How To Make mesclun black and blue salad

    Divide the greens between two plates. Scatter half the steak, cheese, avocado, radishes, and shallots on the greens.

    Top with vinaigrette and croutons, if using. Serve.
