Nothing beats this serving method for fresh green peas. This has long been a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked peas
  • MEDIUM WHITE SAUCE:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

How To Make russ's creamed peas

  • Step 1
    For sauce: Melt butter and blend in flour until smooth. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly, until boiling point is reached. Reduce heat and cook 3 minutes longer; add seasonings and blend. Place lid over hot mixture and cover tightly to prevent film from forming until ready for use.
  • Step 2
    Mix peas with white sauce, reheat, and serve.
