1/2 cup elbow macaroni cooked al dente
1/4 cup barley
1 Tbsp. butter
2 tsp.extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup celery diced
1/4 cup carrots diced or julienned small
1 small onion chopped medium
1/4 cup frozen corn
1/4 cup frozen peas
1 tomato, peeled cored and diced small
1 cup chili con carne
4 cups chicken broth divided
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
