INGREDIENTS
3 to 4 stalks of rhubarb, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces 
2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
3/4 cup water
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
2 large egg yolks
2 large eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lime juice 
1 drop of red food coloring, optional
