Raspberry Walnut Rugelach

"Rugelach are Jewish pastries that usually have a cream cheese–based dough and can be filled with anything from raspberry jam to cinnamon sugar to chocolate and nuts. The word literally means “little twists” in Yiddish. INGREDIENTS
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, at room temperature
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup walnuts
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
big pinch of salt
1 tablespoon cold butter, cut into several pieces
3/4 cup seedless raspberry preserves
1 egg lightly beaten with 1 tablespoon milk, for egg wash
3/4 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, for coating
