1/2 cup well-stirred canned coconut milk (not coconut cream)

1 15-ounce can pure solid-pack pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)

3/4 cup chilled whipping cream, whipped to soft peaks with 1 1/2 Tbs. granulated sugar

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

1 cup solid vegetable shortening, chilled and cut into small pieces

1 large egg yolk, lightly beaten

2 to 3 tablespoons ice water

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
