Pumpkin Cupcakes with Maple Pecan Frosting from The Food Charlatan

INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup (1 and 1/2 sticks) butter
1 and 2/3 cup flour, spooned and leveled
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 cup pumpkin puree* (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs

toasted pecan halves, for topping
maple syrup, to garnish
