1 teaspoon baking soda
⅓ cup (79ml) buttermilk (or add 1 tsp vinegar to milk for 1/3 cup (or nondairy milk))
2 cups (248g) flour (2 cups all-purpose or 1 cup all-purpose + 1 cup whole wheat)
3 tablespoons (42g) butter (melted)
1 cup (113g) powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon maple extract
1-2 tablespoons (5-10ml) heavy whipping cream
