4 pounds pork spareribs
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup apple juice
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup finely-chopped onion
2-3/4 cups apple juice
1/2 cup cider vinegar
3 tablespoons firmly-packed brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Salt to taste
2 medium-sized acorn squash
4 large baking apples, peeled, cored and cut into halves
