1 1/2 cups Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons lemon zest

3/4 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup sliced almonds (for decoration)

Lemon Curd

1 cup lemon juice

2 cups Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar

4 large eggs + 2 large egg whites

3 sticks unsalted butter, very soft

*Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.
