PINEAPPLE LAYER:

1/3 cup sugar
•
2 tablespoons cornstarch
•
1/4 cup water
•
1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained

2 tablespoons butter
•
MERINGUE:
•
3 egg whites
•
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
•
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
•
6 tablespoons sugar
