Pasta Fagioli Soup - The Seasoned Mom

INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb. ground Italian sausage ((I use Italian turkey sausage, but any variety will work))
1 small onion, ( diced (about ½ cup))
1 stalk celery, (diced)
1 medium carrot, (peeled and diced)
1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic ((about 3 cloves))
1 (15 ounce) can cannellini beans, (drained and rinsed)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 (14.5 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes, (not drained)
4 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley ((or ½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes))
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary ((or ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary))
1 ½ cups dry ditalini pasta ((about 7 ounces))
Kosher salt and ground black pepper, (to taste)
For garnish: freshly grated Parmesan cheese; additional chopped parsley or rosemary
