"My dad used to remince about this bread when I was growing up. Later Hector was introduced to this bread on his deer camping trips with his good friend and compadre, Alvaro Hinojosa. Alvaro’s dad used to send us a loaf when he was still baking. This bread is delicious with Carne Guisada or just butter. If you are roughing it and do not have an oven, you may use a skillet. Grease the skillet well. Pat out the dough and place it in the skillet. Place over the grill or coals. Cover skillet with lid or heavy foil. Place hot coals over lid. Turn very carefully when bottom side is brown and bake until the other side is brown; about 6 minutes per side...."
