4 teaspoons cornstarch
½ cup dry breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt, plus extra for seasoning the meat
2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
1 egg, lightly beaten
