INGREDIENTS

For the dough:

4 cups flour
•
1 tbsp plus 1 tsp baking power
•
1 tsp grated orange zest
•
3/4 tsp salt
•
2 eggs
•
3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp granulated sugar
•
1 tsp orange extract
•
3/4 cup milk
•
5 tbsp melted (and cooled) butter
•
For the glaze:
•
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
•
1 1/2 tsp light corn syrup
•
1 tsp orange extract
•
1/3 cup plus 1 tbsp hot water
•
orange food coloring, if desired
•
LOTS of vegetable oil, for frying (I used about 10 cups, but it all depends on the depth of your pot!)
