INGREDIENTS

1 large white or yellow onion, chopped (we usually use the sweeter white onions but yellow has more flavor)
•
1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
•
1 egg, slightly beaten
•
1 c. milk, add more if the batter is too thick
•
1/2 t. garlic powder
•
3/4 c. Italian bread crumbs
•
salt, as desired
•
2-3 cups of oil for frying
