1 cup (7 ounces) granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoon lemon oil or 1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 cup (4 ounces) King Arthur White Whole Wheat Flour
3 1/2 cups (14 7/8 ounces) King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 quarts (3 pounds) lard, shortening or vegetable oil
